My experience working with Komodo was unfortunately very disappointing. The most concerning issue was delayed payment. I experienced months of nonpayment with little to no proactive communication. Despite multiple texts and emails to leadership, there was no clear timeline, transparency, or accountability. As a creative professional who consistently delivered above scope, this was extremely frustrating and financially stressful. On set, leadership often felt overly micromanaged in ways that did not add value. There was heavy oversight on minor details, but very little meaningful support where it was actually needed. This created inefficiency and tension rather than collaboration. The vibe of direct leadership felt tone-deaf given the delayed payments to creatives. When contractors are putting in double the ask and not being paid on time, it signals a lack of respect for their work. Overall, the organization felt disorganized, with limited structure, unclear processes, and a very junior environment that lacked experienced operational leadership. I would strongly encourage clearer payment systems, stronger communication practices, and more structured on-set leadership to better support the creatives who are driving the work.
