the people you work with are wonderful and generally helpful. Kramer's has a rich history in DC, so customers are pretty loyal to the establishment. It is unique because it is a restaurant and bookstore, so you can get discounts on both as an employee.

That being said after Kramer's was bought by new owners two years ago, morale has decreased. Managers and servers alike are apathetic. They no longer care about improving the restaurant, because the owners only care about the bottom line: profits. The old owners cared about their employees as if each person were a family member. I would say that you should work there for the money, but be aware that the climate is more toxic than it used to be.

We agree that Kramer's offers something pretty special to the DC market! To clarify, we became owners of Kramer's in November 2017. Since that time, we've been actively working to enhance the employee experience, and have a series of initiatives planned to rejuvenate the space. Many of these changes are in the process of being implemented. The most recent example is the creation of our Culture & Experiences department, focused on continuing to develop an environment where all of our employees can thrive. Onboarding and training are things we are highly focused on, as well as ensuring an environment of consistent communication . You are welcome to reach out at any time with any feedback or concerns.
