I think one of the biggest factors in hiring is a culture fit. It feels like a very casual workplace. The people are friendly. It is no surprise that there were spontaneous after work drinks that turned into full on office parties (before covid).

It seems like Lamia is trying to operate like a startup while not really being a startup. People are consistently underpaid with no clear path of getting more responsibility or higher pay. Leadership is mostly accidental, with juniors taking more responsibilities, and people being in temporary or informal leadership positions that don’t quite make sense. This of course hugely benefits those that click with management. One huge con is that literally every leadership position is filled by Finns (around 25). This is despite the fact that a quarter of the employees are not Finns.
