Laughably low salaries and poor benefits from the start. Worse, when the COVID layoffs inevitably came, leadership cut dozens of employees off with no notice, no conversations with leadership, no instructions on how to retrieve belongings during a pandemic, no chance to pass projects to coworkers. Veterans with five, ten, fifteen years of tenure dropped without apology or explanation. Leadership was so hands-off several employees discovered they'd been laid off when they were unable to log in, or had the news broken by their own coworkers. There are responsible ways to conduct layoffs, and then there was this: utter and inhumane mismanagement.

More clearly defined career paths and consistent guidance around advancement criteria would help employees better navigate their long-term growth within the organization.
