Vantaggi

LifeTeam is a very steadily growing air ambulance operator based in Wichita, KS. Training management staff changed significantly in November 2017 and along with that came a higher level training program for initials and recurrent training for pilots and medical crew. Pilots will be utilizing FlightSafety for a portion of initial and recurrent training starting summer of 2018. Crew concept on the fixed wing side has also been brought to the forefront and first officers are actively mentored and groomed into the captain role - Captains are expected and required to mentor the first officers to prepare them for upgrade with LifeTeam or for their next aviation endeavor. Maintenance is bar none the best of any company I have worked for. I think the pros can be summed up with one statement - Zero Accidents since the company begin in 2001. If training, managerial support, equipment and maintenance, etc. were not meeting or exceeding standards, that would not be the case.

Svantaggi

Commute - LifeTeam serves rural communities so commuting to these places for work can be difficult. It is recommended, though not required, to live where you work so that work/life balance can be maintained.

Vantaggi

You are able to get into a King air and experience IFR flight.

Svantaggi

1) what is said and what is done are extremely different. While being g recruited I was told that a position in my home state was available and that would be my location. They had me sign to work in kansas, a 7 hour commute. At "training" there were many promises to move me to my home state, all empty. Different states have different compensation, having been promised work in one state and working in Kansas which pays $9 and no overtime. Bills could not be paid. Which leads to 2) compensation, unless you wish to sleep in the off duty accommodations you can not afford anything. They will say you can earn $50 every time you drive an ambulance as a pilot. Another promise never fulfilled. 3) there were many day were you met the 14 hour duty time only to continue to fly part 91. These instances were allowed to continue until day shift was working night shift. 4) drama, not a day went by without complaints. Captains complaining about captains and back stabbing each other. The who is sleeping with who gossip was non-stop.
