There used to be freedom to do fun and useful things, that is gone since acquisition. You're still expected to come to the office at least 1 day a week despite none of your coworkers being in the same state or country. In office you'll sit on video calls all day since everyone is working elsewhere. The collaboration is minimal on most teams due to this. Any work must be approved by management 2 to 3 levels above where the work is done. Don't expect to make any impactful changes, or any changes at all without months of grueling work.
