Svantaggi
Well, where to start? Poor IT systems - awful tablets to use, old smartphones, booking systems that regularly stop working Car - bottom of the range Golf, cheap Management - a joke, four line managers in as many months. Managers constantly leaving because they see it is a sinking ship in Nottingham. Nobody has a clue what's going on. Meetings - Regularly pulled into nonsense team meetings at the last second, at a total inconvenience to yourself and your customers, so they can tell you about some niche nonsense with insane targets that nobody will hit. Commission - Possible, for a bit. Then targets rocket in line with 'budgets' - nobody EVER hits the maximum commission that's advertised - and Nottingham is the largest paper in the group. Customers - Generally fall out with Local World / Nottingham Post constantly. Business owners dont want to know you, so new business is difficult. Progression - Little to none. You can eventually make it to management if you're a brown nose, but only because other managers see sense and leave. Colleagues - Great team of sales people who are all friendly, but you make new friends fast, because everybody leaves. Like, everybody. Employee retention in advertising is abysmal. To my count, in the 18 months I was with the company there were 14 resignations or sackings from the advertising team, which at its peak had 13 sales staff.
