I feel the need to share my experience as I understand there is still a push to hire unsuspecting individuals for various roles at Lookout. While there are truly talented people left after multiple RIFs over the past year (4 since 2022), the leadership is severely lacking. It’s a real shame, because so many great, hard-working individuals are stuck under poor management—specifically the CEO and CFO—who neither support nor appreciate them. There seems to be a huge disconnect between the people doing the actual work and the decision-makers, and it’s demoralizing to watch so many capable people struggle due to a lack of effective leadership. To make matters worse, additional layoffs are looming, and the company is clearly heading in the wrong direction. A botched acquisition led to most of the company being at a standstill for nearly a whole quarter, followed by a February RIF, and then a series of resignations from top talent. I honestly feel bad for the remaining team members who are still there, as they’re caught in a culture of miscommunication and mismanagement. I would not recommend this company to anyone, and I suspect they will not survive much longer in their current state. If you are planning on applying for or accepting a job offer at Lookout, please ask questions about sales performance over the past 18 months, future strategy for the SSE line of business and how they plan on competing in the MES space based on the layoffs that have occurred.
