Honestly I don’t even know - Recensione dipendente - Driver presso Loomis

I just started working at loomis about 2 weeks ago now going on my third. this is the con section but I’ve had some doctors appointments and stuff and I was given the time off no questions asked. Hope this doesn’t get me fired but In my interview I had stated that I don’t mind driving from time to time that I had worked a driving job before and I wasn’t looking to drive everyday, I asked if it was a rotating driver schedule I don’t remember the exact response but under my impression it was “yes it does rotate” but it doesn’t seem to be that way. Con #1 hours are long and tiring Con #2 if you gotta go to the bathroom and no one else is with the truck you gotta wait because the key to the engine isn’t the same key to the outside door (embarrassing to say but I almost had a bathroom accident 2 times in my first week to the point I’d rather not eat in the morning) Con #3 I was under the impression I’d be able to carry my firearm fairly quickly after starting the position but they’re making me wait until 4 weeks after I’ve already started which I think is a silly I think you should qualify with your firearm while your doing your back round check and drug test (pre employment prerequisite) so I’m saying it should be a prerequisite before you actually start! Con #4 if you’re a driver just don’t expect to get out that truck at all for the entire day. I almost feel like a high schooler asking my messenger if I can stop at a store to use the bathroom and I kinda get this weird vibe that when you ask to use the bathroom the messengers are annoyed because it’s gonna add time to the day I don’t know how to explain it but it’s just annoying Con #5 trucks are extremely hot and they don’t “switch” the AC on until April but for some reason I have a feeling they’re not gonna do it in time Con #6 Pay is every two weeks I get that most other states in the US are every two weeks but I’m from Mass where 95% of employers pay weekly so I think that’s a pretty big con, I haven’t gotten my first pay check yet because I started on a pay week so I had to wait 3 weeks for my first pay check not sure if they pay over time Con #7 work life balance is pretty ehhhh recently they been giving me the lighter routes so I’ve been getting out at a decent time so it hasn’t been that bad the last couple of days but my first week I was working like 6:30-6 sometimes 7pm I think my biggest con is being stuck behind the wheel of a 15,000 pound truck all day Not trying to bad mouth this company at all just wanna share my initial thoughts and impressions for anyone considering this job even if your not going to work at the same location as me
