Working in a lab setting and having supportive management that understand work life balance is beneficial as long as the work is getting done. Supportive of using company time to volunteer in community investment. Most employees are supportive and willing to help each out.

No opportunity for advancement. Low yearly pay increases, with too much focus on pushing individuals to do more as “personal development”. Health benefit package is limited and costly, vacation promised isn’t always given, too many middle and upper management, with continued turnover before you even know who they are and what they do. Most scientist and engineers have no other working experience besides education and lack experience, which prevents opportunities for innovation. Co-ops have better opportunities than long term full time employees.
