Great people and great leadership in what can be a very challenging and taxing profession, let alone industry. It's small enough to feel like you know everyone, and the team takes great pride in cultivating a great social culture. It always feels like someone has your back, leadership included. There are very high standards for work here, but also a lot of trust and freedom, so it's a self-starter's dream.

The industry itself is in a tough spot, which can be discouraging. However, the agency is taking steps to diversify clients. Work can also be outside of 'typical' hours, which is par for the course in PR.

-Teams are poorly structured in some cases. A less-than-healthy spirit of competition was fostered by my team lead, who would intentionally omit key information in an attempt to "catch" someone slipping up later, and made it clear that an SAE is basically meant to be a glorified assistant to Account Managers and Supervisors. I don't think this is true for all teams, but certainly my former team. - Also, they are CONSTANTLY doing lay-offs (every 3-6 months like clockwork) so if you're looking for a quick gig to stave off unemployment while you look for something else, go for it. But this is not your lasting career.
