Medrio’s founder and previous CEO is an incredibly empathetic, brilliant and humble person who is amazing to work for. You can feel his vision, and he made his employees excited to come to work and feel connected to one another. The customers are top notch - if you’re in a position to work closely with them you’re at the cutting edge of medical advancement, and will feel inspired by their intelligence and expertise. Medrio has historically been a company that prioritizes a persons potential, personality, drive, and aptitude versus credentials and “checklists” off a resume. Therefore it was a place to grow and challenge each other in a safe space, which resulted in amazing teamwork and productivity.

As companies grow, the culture changes. The culture has become much more corporate, catty, and credential-based versus merit-based. With that, you’ve seen some of the more intuitive, creative-thinking people leave to pursue opportunities that offered the previous level of autonomy, engagement, and support. This isn’t atypical when people get into leadership for the wrong reasons, and I do feel confident that the solid base of Medrio will weather this awkward growth stage.
