MET Laboratories is a good place to start off with your career. It provides with you hands-on testing in a professional laboratory environment and pushes you to learn all of the toys available. You have the ability to meet a wide range of customers and network with them. Every single day is a different task and opportunity and this job will definitely push you to perform. Lots of autonomy and flexibility while working. Good work life balance and you almost never have to take any work home with you. Good health benefits and the 401k contribution is pretty nice.

Upper management try to cut expenses everywhere which hampers on our ability to perform our jobs. Wages are extremely low for the Bay Area as management tends to usually hire new college grads or older engineers struggling to find work. Lots of overtime required to finish on schedule. Leadership is lacking within the department which creates chaos and mixed messages. Very little room for advancement unless someone leaves which they do often (place is like a revolving door).
