Vantaggi
Q is a great place to work if you want to have an impact. The company is growing and evolving rapidly, which means people throughout the company have an opportunity to shape how Q functions. While this may appear to be the case at all early-stage startups, individual egos or organizational inertia often get in the way. Q’s culture of selflessness ensures that if a decision is the best thing for the company, egos won’t get in the way. I also like working at Q for ethical reasons. Firstly, Q has a 100% genuine concern for its field operators. It’s not just the well-publicized things like hiring them as W-2 workers and paying benefits - I’ve seen first-hand many behind-the-scenes decisions that are driven by the field operators’ interests, decisions that would likely have gone the other way at a company focused on the short-term bottom line. Across the company, Q understands that it succeeds in the long-term only if it provides quality, sustainable jobs for its field operators. Secondly, many startups these days rely on the advertising house-of-cards to make money - a business model that amounts to trading a “free” service to users in exchange for selling their eyeballs to advertisers. Q is providing a concrete service of obvious value to our customers, without any sleight of hand.
Svantaggi
Q is an early stage company - so the compensation and perks might not be exactly on par with those at later-stage companies (yet!). That said, a couple reviewers on here seem to make career decisions based on whether their startup makes them lunch every day. Maybe it's a generational thing.
