Mango Publishing gives you room to grow and learn about the book publishing industry. You can create internal books (with stipulations). Most people are generally good-hearted and helpful. You can take some books home and meet some amazing authors.

Internal communication has been an issue since before 2019. You have to figure out (on your own) how to juggle current and new tasks and the continuous slack tasks that pop up. Future company planning and financial transparency is lacking in many ways. They had a mass hiring in 2020 and had mass layoffs twice in the past year or so. It was so sad to see valuable and talented people let go in as little as a week. If you’re not agreeable or always willing to take on more work, you could be deemed as not being “a company culture fit.” The condescending attitude is very real. You’re made to feel dumb (or alien), if you don’t speak the Mango language. If you have a good heart and like to work, they will take advantage of you and tell you to be more efficient. Nepotism, micro-aggressions, and gaslighting exist here. Sensitivity training needs to happen. There’s no health insurance. When I left, it felt like I was escaping a cult.
