Small company, family-owned. Great place to work - before company got sold

Post-acquisition, big-enterprise culture has already made its mark. Culture, that was - is gone.

It's a job if you need one, decent benefits, most of the people are nice. The office building was very pleasant to be inside.

Don't consider this job unless it's your only option. They consider their engineers disposable, and from other reviews it sounds like the rest of the staff too. The management has ridiculously narrow views on what good software development is, e.g. "never use the database to join - we join in code." It's a little bit paranoid of an environment - cameras are everywhere and hearing the staff joke about the company's software evoked a "you should be glad these cameras don't have microphones" from the manager. If there's an LA bubble, this is definitely outside of it. Expect the staff and the culture of the place to match this. From the other reviews it sounds like a company in decline, and the pandemic is probably going to push them over the edge.
