Do you like someone to babysit you and be lectured every now and then? Yes?! Well then, I’ve got the perfect job for you! Come join us at Media Genesis where all your childhood nightmares and dreams of getting grounded and babied come true! In all reality though, that is the best way I can explain management’s behavior toward their staff. On lecturing for instance, you will get a nice 5 minute “talk” or lengthy email from the boss scolding you and criticizing you on their perceived “correct” way of doing things. To be fair though, honest mistakes are made. However, you will still get reprimanded. What might really irk you is that the boss will make similar mistakes and everyone goes about their way trying to ignore the elephant in the room. It’s awkward, unfair, and childish. Management babysitting their staff is no joke here- micro-management at its finest! You will be constantly asked if task A is completed and what the status on task B is. Most of your time is dedicated to answering these emails than actually doing your work.
