A monthly car allowance is great! BUT they regulate the types of cars you're allowed to drive... can't be too nice, can't be too old, can't be this, must be that, so on and so forth. Also, they pretty much lie to you about how the career path flows. Don't listen to the recruiters or to HR, because here is the truth: They will start you off as a recruiter and assign you to a small team of a few other recruiters and typically, one salesperson. The salesperson's duty is to market and acquire new business. The recruiter's job is to take the needs of that new business and fill their open positions with qualified candidates. They tell you that you'll be a recruiter for a few months, maybe six, then you'll go through sales training, then you'll be promoted to a salesperson. The salespeople are the ones who get the car allowance and the hefty-er paychecks. This is all bogus. The truth is that they sign you on and you have to stay in the recruiter position until they tell you that you're allowed to go into sales training. There are requirements and qualifications that you must meet, understandably, but the bottom line discretion is up to your office's boss. You go into training when he tells you you can. And if he/she doesn't like you, then you'll never go into sales training. Once you complete your sales training, THEN and only THEN are you allowed to apply to open positions. Oh, there are no open positions in Chicago? Too bad. Try our MD branch. You don't mind relocation, right? My point is that these positions are rarely open and the company is not growing that fast, so new positions aren't being created either. So if you want to work for Medix, you better love being a recruiter because if you're a salesperson at heart and hope to just get through this training as quickly as possible, you're in for a rude awakening.
