Vantaggi
I've looked for a company for several years that I could find my place in and stay for a long time. I finally found it here. The company is run in an extremely fiscally prudent fashion. You don't have to worry about whether your job will exist a year from now. The companies healthcare plan is outstanding, they've gone out of their way to make healthcare something employees will never have to worry about. The work-life balance is also outstanding, no one is expected to work overtime except when onsite for a meeting, in which case even well-salaried employees are paid a generous additional daily "travel pay". Salaries are above market with much more than just an annual cost of living raise. Generous year-end bonuses. No one leaves for more money. 401k plans that the employer contributes to regardless of employee participation. Paid time off begins accruing from day one on the job. Because the company is still relatively small and growing quickly, there is ample opportunity to see your own role in the company grow quickly. Employees that go the extra mile are rewarded for going 5. Co-workers are all really good, you'll spend very little time having to do another person's work. Owners are always willing to make additional hires/shift work if one person gets overloaded. You'll have direct access to the owners on a daily basis, there isn't 10 layers of bloated middle management to take credit for your work and bog you down with pointless tasks that no one cares about.
Svantaggi
Working for a small company can be challenging. There aren't 300 other people with your same job that can pick up the slack if you decide you don't want to come in to work. The work you're doing is also directly relevant to the companies bottom line, so failing to do a good job is quickly and directly addressed. You'll be client facing right out of the gate with some of the biggest names in the industry, so there is pressure that some people struggle with.
