you'll meet some workers who focus on the task on hand with care and concern. however, they are considered expendable people who's waiting to be replaced by another unbeknown person.

border-lining discriminatory behavior, unethical, and severely poor communication throughout management, starting with the very first day of orientation; a lady was asked to leave orientation because Meijer was not able to provide a translator - it was a very snowy morning with bad roads and I can only imagine what the lady must have felt. terrible training and the office reeks of foul odors that linger on your clothes after leaving; an opened glass beverage bottle (the glass was a dark amber color reminiscent of a beer bottle) was found spilled in a filing cabinet for office supplies and the liquid hardened on the inside of the filing cabinet door, which i imagine contributed to the foul smell in the air. ridiculous training of staff that's full of arrogant and apathetic individuals with no room for creativity. tasks would be assigned but to no avail would completing said tasks please management. confusing orders are barked to employees. no sense of wanting creativity from employees. select individuals are given unlimited amounts of overtime even though the workload in no way requires the mind-blowing amount of overtime granted while others are scorned for doing so. supreme favoritism runs rampant throughout the organization. they hire foreign workers to do their work but provides them with limited resources and scorns them for doing bad jobs. in short, terrible communication and apathetic management makes for bad times. #Boycott Meijer

Direct coworkers were great to work with. I also enjoyed being left to do my work and not babysat by management.

Management doesn't know what they are doing. Resets and floor plans were regularly not done properly. The store I worked at has a skeleton crew so I never got help (but was expected to stop everything I'm going to go help other departments/areas). Also meaning good luck to any customers needing help, especially when I was the only person working my area of the store, so when I wasn't there, no one was. Management also regularly disappeared into the offices or were on vacation. Also was terminated for reasons outside my control even though I was told they look at the reasons for attendance incidents before termination. Never got to get the FMLA or accommodation to my doctors before being terminated two days after I requested them. Didn't bother asking for a raise either. I did multiple times and got nothing.
