I really enjoy working with Mercor as an independent contractor. The flexibility allows me to work whenever it fits my schedule, making it easy to balance with my other professional commitments. I also appreciate that the compensation is fair and competitive. When projects are available, there are ample opportunities to work, and I can take on as many assignments as my contract permits.

While I have had a positive overall experience, there are areas where the organization could improve. Communication and support can be limited, particularly when technical issues arise. For example, I was locked out of Slack and made numerous attempts to regain access, but there was no dedicated support line or clear point of contact to help resolve the issue. Additionally, project onboarding and offboarding often come with minimal communication, making it difficult to anticipate changes. Work availability is inconsistent and varies based on project demand. Assignments can end with little or no advance notice, so I would not recommend relying on Mercor as a primary source of income. It is better suited as a flexible supplemental opportunity rather than a stable full-time position.
