I would seriously caution anyone considering a role on the business side at Micron - don’t apply for anything less than a Snr Mgr or Director role. Otherwise you’re going to have to deal with all the absolute bottom pile of every other company who lands up at Micron. You’ll have to deal with attitudes that don’t conform to civil, professional workplace standards, ADHD and OCD personalities, and the best of all drunk SVPs / CVPs whose abrasive attitude filters through entire rank and file. Beware of the role you apply to, ask lots and lots of questions. Once you’re here, be prepared to be on your own flying solo and lot of people stepping over your feet, telling you what do and how to do it, and showing absolutely no appreciation for a job well done, instead pointing out flaws because that’s easier. Severe attrition on the business side, arbitrary promotions that make no sense, very low visibility/impact for several roles (hence my caution, try to flesh out these details via your interview), and an executive team that keeps pushing people to breaking point.

All the cons I’ve described in the pros section. Unfortunately Micron has forgotten what it means to support and empower its own people, and your Micron experience (at least on the biz side) will always count for LESS than someone coming from Microsoft, Google, or one of the larger semi companies. DO MORE to encourage and empower your employees to step into leadership roles, otherwise attrition is going to be order of day. Or maybe that’s what leadership wants at the end of the day - burn out the US team and slowly build up offshore. Guess what? Even the offshore teams know very well that their value and worth will never measure up and they will always be second class, and they see and sense the discomfort in their US counterparts especially with all the non value add drivel you force on both teams.
