Some of the people you work with, depending on the department, can have an ornery attitude. Management will train you to do more with your skill set, but they won't align you into a position that can benefit from that. If you're a technician, take "learning development" opportunities with a grain of salt. You will learn, but you will also be expected to contribute beyond your normal capacity, and if you're eyeing an engineering role, they will likely hire someone else outside the company to fit that need as opposed to you, even though they say they won't.
