Vantaggi

Casual atmosphere Freedom to pick work focus

Svantaggi

The founders are some of the most inexperienced and arrogant individuals I've worked with. The Dunning Kruger effect is terribly strong here and despite your credentials or performance you will always be doubted by the founders. The founders are ex recruiters without broad business experience. Get ready to be Japansplained. If you're not Japanese your opinion doesn't matter despite work in the market. There's underlying tones of racism in a real condescending style. The CEO is uninspiring and doesn't command respect. Often avoided by most in the company as it results in micromanagement.

Vantaggi

Remote work. Twenty days' holiday. You get them until you've been there six months. If working from home is your main priority, this ticks that box. You'll need to visit the office now and again, but that counts as business travel if you live far enough away. Worth checking the distance requirements though. There was someone who lived three hours away but wasn't allowed to claim anything back.

Svantaggi

Morale is poor. Most people seem burnt out. I suspect quite a few are on stress leave, though it's hard to say for certain. Communication is lacking. There's a clear divide between favoured employees and the rest. A small group seems immune to accountability. Some people get promoted into key roles without the necessary skills, experience, or training. Budget always appears for vendors with ties to senior leadership, but backfilling teams is apparently impossible. I'd hoped things might improve after the acquisition. They've actually got worse.

Vantaggi

- Flexible workstyle: fully remote, but you can go to the office if you want), flextime (10:00-16:00 core hours), 20 days of paid leave, 10 days of sick/care leave. Work-life balance is something attainable, and people want you to achieve it. - Great paid leave (20 days for all, very fair) - A variety of work is available and your have a great opportunity to grow your knowledge in areas you are interested in (both as an engineer or as a manager). - Worked with some truly fantastic people. I've learned a lot and had a lot of good times. - English!

Svantaggi

- Lots of legacy systems to deal with that tie down technical decision making. - Prioritization needs work. Often felt like we were trying to do everything all the time. This got better over time, so your mileage my vary.
