They used to have good incentives to work extra hours like double pay and red line bonuses but the union is ineffective and can't keep good incentives in place.

It's a union job, it's good to have guaranteed hours but the pay is low for the work they expect you to perform. And unfortunately it's very easy to get hired so there's a TON of college kids with no work ethic due to graduating high school mid pandemic. It's a weird work environment these days.

flexible schedule. unlimited PTO. never a shortage of work. if you work for a unit with a good manager, that's all you need,

the flexible schedule is also a con. they call you at 6 am and 11 pm about things that can absolutely wait. the unlimited PTO is also a con, they do this so they don't have to pay you out when you leave or remove you, they also don't really let you take off as much time as you want. upper management, the VPs and DPs are nightmares. terrible people that are totally disconnected from the mission and the "corporate culture." they push acceptance at the unit level, and then upper leadership doesn't listen to it at all. The VPS and presidents like to take the CEO out drinking and they all love to party.
