I recently began working for Motts (approximately 2 months ago) but in the time I have been here I have noticed the highly regarded reputation this company holds. From speaking to ex-colleagues and friends in the engineering industry outside of Motts, it is apparent they know about the expertise and status of the company. There are also a number of extremely interesting projects that the company are associated with which provides scope for the future for employees. The office environment is a lot nicer to the places I have worked previously and I believe this helps to boost morale and in turn, productivity. There are also a few really knowledgeable, extroverted and extremely helpful engineers in my office who have been happy to show me the ropes and help me out on certain tasks I’ve been set.

In my short time at the organisation, I have noticed that there is a lot of politics with certain members of staff. This is very different to my previous employer (a company with more staff than Motts) and I am yet to understand why this is. The induction process has also been disorganised. Although the initial day was well set up with numerous induction reading material provided and online training modules shown, I have effectively been left to my own devices. I still do not exactly know who my team is and didn’t meet my manager for the first week or so.
