Vantaggi

My Chapter colleagues are some of the best people I know. Harding working, passionate, intelligent.

Svantaggi

The National office does not care about their employees, or their members. They are making million dollar financial errors and passing it on to the chapters with no responsibility taken at the National office. Chapter employees and members have to feel the burden of the mismanagement of chapter operations and finances. They have chapter employees making below the legal threshold while paying rent that is five times what the employee makes. The chapters can't make any decisions anymore, and national is rules by 'because I said so'. I would go as far as saying I think there is corruption happening at the National office.

Vantaggi

This was one of the best internship experiences that I have ever had. You are filled with so much support from the staff. They want you to grow and they want you to learn whatever you need to learn to feel confident entering the job market. They are open to you helping with any task that they have on their agenda.

Svantaggi

No cons honestly. It is mainly remote except for events and meetings which is something the keep in mind.

Vantaggi

Salary was good (I negotiated at hiring) My team was great; I was lucky to be on a team of skilled and empathetic professionals.

Svantaggi

I have never worked anywhere else where the morale was so consistently low. Do you love being depressed and listening to your coworkers complain about how miserable they are? Do you fear technology and prefer to do things the hard way? If not, do yourself a favor and give this place a HARD PASS. You might get lucky and work in one of the few teams that are sane and productive. If not, you will spin your wheels until you burn out or give up. It's got a great mission, but it's such a flawed workplace that it doesn't come place to living out its core values. HR at NASW treats employees horribly while ignoring ongoing complaints of bullying by managers (who get paid 6 figures). During my time there, I saw furloughs, layoffs, downsizing of the physical space, and a never-ending atrophying of the member base. Don't even think about jumping aboard this sinking ship!
