      NBC's problem is, of course, the business they are in. There is a constant struggle against the rapid change in their core business, and it's difficult to ignore the declining ratings etc.

      Unless you work in new venture, the business is pretty dull (a bit like a utility company). Very risk averse company. Very slow and "matrixed" decision process. A lot of "lifers" in middle management ranks that resist change.
