The training was solid, the team was supportive, and the hours were flexible, which made it easy to balance with school. It’s also a meaningful way to build communication skills while helping people directly.

The work can feel emotionally heavy at times, and since it’s a volunteer position, there aren’t really growth opportunities or pay.

A chance to contribute to the well being of people who have concerns about eating disorders.

Too bad they got rid of their online help forum, and fired the 200 volunteers who manned their hot line. It will take them a while to recover their credibility after something like that.
