Vantaggi

NGA is one of the better agencies in the IC. Not on the cutting edge of technology but not far behind either. The building is modern, the onsite gym has fitness classes and you get 3 hours per week for fitness. There's plenty of food choices: Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Subway. Indoor parking garage (if you're there early). I have great coworkers and like building relationship with others. There's also flexible work schedules. Benefits are same as most other non-gov't companies, nothing overly exciting unless you are former military.

Svantaggi

Most of the employees are introverts who lack interpersonal communication skills and decision making abilities. Too many emails and using email as a way to manage work. Management could use courses on how to manage. They put people in management positions with no experience or guidance. The promotion process is an insult to all the intelligent people who work hard, yet don't have "visibility" by leadership. There is a lot of redundancy in work and why are we treated like hourly employees yet considered EXEMPT? There's no real career path for those not in the positions not considered overhead. The work I do isn't rewarding because management and politics get in the way of improvement and forward movement.

Vantaggi

Great co-workers. Lots of time off

Svantaggi

Poor senior leadership lacks effectiveness. Promotion decisions prioritize diversity objectives over merit, with less qualified junior personnel (mostly female) advanced to Band 4 and Band 5 positions ahead of more qualified candidates. Additionally, daily workloads are insufficient to fill an 8-hour shift.
