It's a mess here, and this is what I mean: if you produce and can lock a lot of loans every week, you'll make a lot of money, and they treat you like a rap star. You can kind of get away with KPI's not all being so great, so long as you're locking loans and making the company money. Super chill when things are good. Processing and back end production seems pretty top notch to me. If you're doing even fairly well, they'll let you work from home some or most days. The place is super casual. Wanna wear shorts and a t-shirt? Go for it. Basketball shorts, t-shirt and sneakers? Go for it. There is literally no dress code at all....just wear clothes. LOL. All in all, this place is a freaking mess, but it's a mess that you can potentially make a lot of money in.

It's the opposite of a "professional" environment. Sometimes there's wrap music playing, and sometimes it's filthy as heck, yet it still plays. There's constant hounding to "lock more loans!; and I mean constant. <<< like it'll be 4pm on Friday, and they're telling us to pull 3 locks out of our rear end before the end of the day. Okay! haha. Seriously, it's steady hounding. I don't think that's unique to Newrez; it's somewhat par for the course in the mortgage call center world. And we're regularly on phone calls where we're sort of reprimanded as a team for being low on our numbers. Not a huge deal, as we need to produce, but there's room to improve and talk to us more like adults than junior high kids. Oh, and training and support for new people? It ain't that great. They have the "Academy", which in and of itself is GREAT....but going from there to the phones was a total schit storm. They will help you, and your fellow LO's are super cool in helping you. It's a culture of 'we do this together', but the managers vary widely in their temperament and patience in dealing with newbies. As for expectations, management expects the world on all fronts: compliance, submissions, conversion, etc, It's pretty much impossible to doing everything they want. So, at the end of the day..... just get loans locked, submit them, and do whatever you can to pull them through, and you'll be fine. And if you think you're getting time off to play with your kids, that schit ain't happening! They brag about the money, but say it comes at a price, and that price is you ain't do'n NOTHING except writing loans. They brag about working holidays, weekends, etc....all for that filthy lucre. As for facilities, let's talk about that for a minute. We're at the coppell location, but Newrez owns or leases space in the fancy "Cypress Waters" just up the road, where the "Academy" was held for new hire loan officers. Now THAT place is nice. Our building? Not as much; it's a little older. And it's not so much the age of the building, as the employees and what they do to those bathrooms each day. And let me tell ya, it ain't pretty. The mens restroom is destroyed EVERY hour. Literally EVERY HOUR....complettely DESTROYED. There's a bunch of animals that work there. We in the originations dept share a bathroom with Loss Mitigation, and as much as I wanna blame Loss Mit, I think we have a lot of filthy animals in originations too. Some dude keeps peeing into a paper towel, then dude leaves it in the urinal. WHY??? And it's EVERY day. Pedro comes, cleans the bathroom, poor guy. Then homie comes and drops another paper towel in the urinal and does his thing. Why? Why bro! It's disgusting! These guys also get a bunch of paper towels and put them in the toilet, and it won't flush. WHY? I go in there to take a quick leak, and I see a pair of basketball sneakers in the stall, someone taking a dump of course. But they have their phone on some stupid hip-hop sitcom, literally watching TV with it on speaker, turned all the way up. Like, who in the world goes to take a dump and watches a TV show on their phone with it turned all the way up?? That's not even the worst part.......... I think someone puked their brains out in the sink the other morning. I could smell it. I was like, "these filthy asz animals puked in the sink!" - It's seriously disgusting. Poor facilities guy is doing a deep clean every hour. He speaks broken English, but he knows who these filthy animals are, he motions to me who they are. And it ain't just loss mit!
