NextFab is a great place to work because the mission is noble, the team is energetic, and the opportunities available are rare and worthwhile. The founder is down to earth and incredibly invested in the people who work for him. You'll work with talented people and serve interesting, unique customers. Management is relaxed, we're all friends here. I have worked at NextFab for 6 years and continue to for the uniqueness of the workplace, stellar colleagues and many opportunities to learn and grow professionally.

Instead of Cons, I'm going to talk about Challenges and Realities: Nextfab can be challenging because you will be required to think on your feet daily and you'll need to achieve a level of expertise in multiple areas. The business model is pioneering and constantly shifting with a lot of moving parts. In reality, have a lot to address and build on that other companies have figured out. You might work on things that feel "above" your pay grade and you may feel overwhelmed with tasks at times. Your happiness at NF will depend on your career goals and personal drive. One major point to recognize is that NF is a service based company. Good people skills and a willingness to help others is a make or break trait.

Fun and energetic place to work. A lot of the staff is young and ambitious, making for a great environment. Many people willing to share their specific knowledge and help others grow. Upper management was always kind and easy to work with.

Very cool members and exposure to interesting projects and startup ventures. Free classes and access to the workshop equipment.

Upper management so far removed from the day to day operations, they have no idea what can be accomplished in a set amount of time with the number of people performing blended roles (more than one job.) Constantly shifting priorities due to a reactionary culture. There is no real business plan so all one can do is respond to shiny object syndrome thinking this new initiative is gonna change the whole outlook and finally make it a profitable company. Toxic leadership that insinuates you should be grateful for being offered a pay cut.
