Exactly what the title says - it's enticing for the young people because they sell you this hip office culture: open office space, XBox in the pantry, animé designed meeting rooms, and so on. Good healthcare benefits, unrivaled here in PH.

Low salary raise if you are not vocal. TSs are a pain in dev meetings why are they even there. They took advantage that everyone's young and willing to render overtime. They make up for it by karaoke nights and pizza parties. Devs are blamed by inaccurate estimates. We even had to talk again to SMEs to clarify which components are supposed to be impacted. There are times that the initial impact that the TS provided - where the estimates are based - and SME feedback differ. They literally just have to talk to people and they can't even do it right.

Decent starting salary, good benefits, generous PTO

1% raises forever. Last promotion I got to Principal had no raise but a bump in bonus percentage. Now they are giving kids 8-12% raises and they have less than 5 yrs. Once you hit about 5 yrs you will get the 1% a yr and be pigeon holed into a specific job. Then good luck trying to change.
