Avoid like the plague! - Recensione dipendente - Strategy Manager presso Nokia

This is a company that conquered the world and then lost everything. That pain is still there, particularly given the extremely poor senior management and bad decision making. Of the 3 current businesses (Networks, HERE and Technologies), I would bet only Networks will remain in 2-3 years. If that is your goal, then please do join the company. If not, avoid it. Your career will not advance at all. HERE will be sold and Technologies has a very questionable executive team. Technologies has people with a terrible track record in launching products (collecting failure after failure... Meego anyone?) heading an entire Products business unit... which is supposed to launch new Nokia products soon. It also shows another problem with the company: you don't get promoted by your work, but by who you know. It is a shame - this was an incredible place to work for, lots of fun and great team spirit. However, with constant layoffs, with great talent leaving and with poor managers being promoted, this became a terrible company. If you are about to retire and/or don't mind spending a few years not doing much, getting a good salary and not advancing your career, then maybe this is the place for you. If not, avoid it.
