Vantaggi
As an intern with Talent Acquisition, I've been able to work on projects that appeal to my professional goals and I've been heavily connected to movers and shakers within my organization in the short time I've been in this role. Working as a Digital Strategy Intern, I've worked on an assortment of interesting projects. Within my department, I've helped redesign the Careers website, created digital recruitment strategies around hard-to-fill positions and educated fellow associates on digital branding efforts. I've also been able to work on projects outside of Talent Acquisition as an intern. In my short time within the role, I've helped develop a mentorship program aimed to develop our associates professionally and I've contributed to an innovation program aimed to solve some of OhioHealth's challenge by utilizing the creativity and ingenuity of our associates. I would heavily recommend working here at OhioHealth, whether you start as an intern or not. The people here are amazing -- clever, compassionate and motivated. By working in Talent Acquisition, I've had a family from day one who has supported me and encouraged my professional endeavors. I've also been able to network with individuals at OhioHealth who are leading their field and driving innovation. My mentors and peers are like friends and family who I will keep with me for the rest of my life. So sad to leave, but happy to start my Master's program. I hope to work with OhioHealth again in the future.
Svantaggi
Since OhioHealth is healthcare leader in the central Ohio market (we provide healthcare to 47 of the 88 counties in Ohio!), it is difficult for leadership to see the value in taking risks. OhioHealth achieved such success over the last 30 years by taking risks under the leadership of Dave Blom; however, now that we are "on top," it has been very difficult to continue to innovate and make sustainable, impactful progress. I have personally been a part of one of the most recent programs aimed to create innovative solutions that benefit OhioHealth and its mission to provide healthcare to our communities. I have heard the desire and need for innovation. Yet, when we finally have the opportunity to take initiative and drive innovation, most of us don't take the opportunity since we have a risk-averse culture. To stay ahead in the market as we move from Volume to Value (quantity of care to quality of care), we as a system need to change the way we perceive risk. We need to create a safe-to-fail environment at OhioHealth so that risk-taking, once again, becomes a part of our culture. This is how we are going to best serve our communities and provide the most advanced healthcare in Ohio and the nation.
