At this company, success is rarely celebrated. Aside from the sales team recognizing closed deals, there is little acknowledgment of individual or team achievements. Once a quarter, 1-2 employees are mentioned by their peers in the all-hands, but day-to-day there is no real culture of celebrating progress or success, which makes the work environment feel difficult and unmotivating. The CEO is highly micromanaging, often assigning tasks or ask to re-do tasks that don’t always make sense or align with broader goals. Team members usually complete them simply because “the CEO said so.” Feedback is frequently harsh and unconstructive - work is sometimes dismissed as “bad” or “embarrassing” without clear, actionable guidance on how to improve.
