When I joined OnDefend, it was one of the most supportive and energizing environments I had experienced. The team was skilled, collaborative, and genuinely cared about doing great work. The culture encouraged growth, independence, and mutual respect. I felt trusted and motivated, and the work itself was meaningful and rewarding.

Things changed dramatically when a new associate program director was brought in to lead the team in DC. What had been a trusting and empowering environment quickly turned into one driven by control and micromanagement. The shift in leadership style stifled autonomy, created unnecessary stress, and led to several strong team members leaving. Concerns were raised internally but went unaddressed. The focus became managing people through fear instead of enabling them to succeed.
