Vantaggi
-Flexible Hours good for students, 20 hours minimum a week (40 hours a fortnight so can do 15 and 25 over two weeks for example) -Can be full-time or part time, minimum hours are 20 a week but you can do much more like 50+ a week so could be good for saving quickly for a trip or something -Opportunity to earn good commission on top of your minimum wage if you work at it -Good entry level job with opportunity to move up, eg. management all worked their way up from the same job you start doing -Pretty fair management, everyone is on casual contracts so they can get rid of you without notice but they give people opportunity and support to improve before they'd ask you to leave -Reasonably casual dress code -Everyone tries to make it a good environment to make up for the type of work it is -When things aren't doing so well in my experience I never got told off instead got support to improve what I was doing wrong, there were games set up with prizes to encourage targets to be reached on slow/bad days instead of pressure so even if the day wasn't good it ends up being real fun -Central location right in CBD and close to gyms, supermarkets, cafes, universities, bus stops, etc
Svantaggi
-Late starts at 11am, shift times can be a massive pro or massive con depending on your lifestyle/schedule -Charity Calling is not for everyone it can make you feel like a bad person -High turnover but that's to be expected in call centres -Casual contracts so employment is never truly guaranteed week to week -Even though you're calling for charities you are at the end of the day trying to sell something which isn't for most people to push for sales -Some may consider shift work a con, shifts are generally 3-4 hours depending on the charity 11-3 3.30-6.30 7-10 or something of that sort I can't quite remember obviously don't get paid for the half hour in between like restaurant shift work -Some may also consider the peak hours a con, X amount of peak hours need to be reached every fortnight, peak hours are saturdays and night shifts -Lots of rejection in the job which could effect you so have a bit of a thick skin or you'll grow one quick -Easy to become bored and monotonous, sales calls can easily make anyone feel pretty down and frustrated -End of the day it is what you make it, the job isn't for most people of course but you can keep it upbeat most days
