Vantaggi
Some of the people are enjoyable to work with and good at their job, but that's definitely the exception. The pay was okay (huge red flag: they "terminated my position" less than 12 hours before a large bonus was to be paid, thus making me ineligible for it). Engineering budget was good; they are swimming in hundreds of underutilized servers.
Svantaggi
Echoing what other people have said, the top-level execs at the company are difficult to deal with. I never heard anyone describe interacting with the CEO as "talking to him" -- one always "deals with him" and this is telling. Definite delusions of grandeur amongst the top people leads to constructive criticism not being taken well. Zero training what so ever for any engineering department. Manager was brand new to management and I'm not sure he knew the definition of the word delegate. Very poor project tracking -- things had to be done "right now" with little planning. Most time spent dealing with daily fires. Amazingly poor network engineering that leads to hundreds of wasted hours dealing with server providers. Seattle office is tiny and has absolutely no perks. Boston office is packed shoulder to shoulder and looked terrible to work in. Finally, the prevailing feeling that nobody cares about being there, but is just showing up and collecting a paycheck.
