Svantaggi
Management is largely incapable of differentiating high performers from their peers and provides no incentives for these individuals to remain within PPG. This results in either brain drain to other organizations and the formation of an often jaded workforce. Leadership seems shocked that employees feel there isn't much room for career advancement but routinely overlook qualified candidates internally in favor of outside hires in order to not raise individuals by more than one job band at a time. This is the case even in smaller work groups where postings are sparse. Pay is slowly becoming less and less competitive. Leadership appears stunned by the offers that workers are receiving from outside companies. They don't seem to have aligned themselves with current competitive market rates. There is a large contingent of middle managers that have high expectations for team member availability but simultaneously take days, weeks. or even months to respond to communications. The company tends to talk out of both sides of their mouths on IT, simultaneously pushing self service while making it frustratingly hard to get access to the tools needed to do the job. Too many managers focus on shiny new toys instead of equipment with strong ROI. The company will dump millions into new databases, automated equipment, etc. while rejecting inexpensive items that can significantly improve production time and quality.
