-Can be chill if nothing happens -People are usually compliant if you talk to them in a civilized manner -Don't need to wear a uniform or write everything in a notebook -Very good experience if you want to get into policing

-Can experience long periods of boredom -Not paid enough, for how risky the job can get -People you confront will insult you, deny that they stole, or can get violent -Store staff generally unhelpful in pointing out suspicious people -Hard to reach the managers
