Vantaggi

In Japan (where I was stationed) the company has your back. Except for compensation, they will do pretty much everything to make sure you have your needs satisfied like housing, food, transportation etc. for VERY cheap. ~$100/mo. cheap for the company dorm. The dorms also have a cafeteria with full meals around $3. Security is of no matter. My dorm had a massive wash room with a hot tub the size of a swimming pool. The work itself was not incredibly difficult to begin contributing to it, and the senpai are ridiculously helpful. There's really no such thing as "don't waste my time with your questions" attitude. If you're looking to become fluent in Japanese, then working here will work as I can attest to (passed N1 by the end of it). You learn very crucial fundamentals about the whole spectrum of product development (for me it was electrical engineering), and the training upon entry allowed me to learn about every aspect of what Panasonic does. Factory training, retail store training, company manners are all part of the initial ~3 month period. While it was long and seemingly un-related to what I would be doing eventually, I will take all those skills with me forever into all my future jobs. Also, Panasonic is fantastic in that it is one of the only companies in Japan that pays employees for every minute of over time they work. Most of the time companies will call it "service-overtime" and not pay you.

Svantaggi

Since I was working here in Osaka, Japan, it was a very particular experience. I don't think it would be the same as one of the branches in other countries. Most of the cons are the same as what one would find at any Japanese company in Japan: -Low salary (too low to live in an apartment probably). -Everyone feels like they have to work over time every day. -There are so many employees so the work is divvied up too much. Not enough opportunities to make a decision and roll with it. So many levels of administration to oversee your work. -If you have an allergy and cannot eat what the dorm serves or the company cafeteria...DO NOT LIVE IN THE DORMS. It is almost impossible to cook for yourself in this situation, and you MUST because you have to make all your own meals. Live in an apartment. -Opportunities for advancement were scarce, but they are not non-existent. -Dorms do not let people who are not Panasonic same-sex employees enter. So if you have a romantic partner, you will be staying at their place.
