Vantaggi

Get to play with lots of technology, blessing and a curse because not everyone uses the same tools for automation. Benefits are decent and there's food left over from meetings every day plus frequent donuts and candy cart. CEO seems to know what he's doing and the business is strong.

Svantaggi

Most changes have to be done off hours so lots of unpaid work. Mega stress because so many environments, we struggle with standards, and if something goes wrong with your change management goes crazy. If management likes you you're ok, but they need their scapegoats. Management wants to move up so nothing can make them look bad. Most people including front line managers are walking on eggshells. You can't trust management. They give lip service to values but they are power hungry and vindictive. Best to keep your ideas to yourself. They can be downright childish. We spend too much time trying to figure out the dozens of goals per department, constant meetings, constant interruptions and politics. We don't finish goals, but spin the story. We can't finish because priorities change, projects don't get finished because we have to figure out and support what we build as we build it. Everybody seems to do Agile their own way. It doesn't fit what some of the teams do so people are confused. Our tools and repos can be slow and sometimes go down. Again, hard to get the work done on time. Operations issues / testing can turn into all hands events. There seem to be gender, age, race issues some subtle and some not. Women go into management and then they leave. Older folks have been getting pushed out for years. Ethnic impressions are laughed off.

Vantaggi

Paychex is a great company to work for. I’ve held multiple roles over 20+ years. There are always ups and downs, but for every position, manager, decision I disagree with, there are ten others that are outstanding.

Svantaggi

It’s a large company with many opportunities to grow, but smaller companies may offer higher compensation.

Vantaggi

Nothing is good about working here.

Svantaggi

Nobody is ever held accountable. Pay is awful. Benefits were all moved out of state, so all providers in the area are all out of network. Jobs are being moved to India. The list goes on. Sales is the absolute favorite department in the entire company. Nothing sales can do is ever wrong, even when they give false information to clients and then the support team has to deal with the fallback. Don't get me started on Payroll.... the entire department has gone to the wind. I honestly don't know how this company ever did good with payroll services. The #1 complaint i got from every single client I interacted with was they could never get ahold of their Payroll Specialist. The company's response to this was to start making other departments learn payroll duties. This year they moved insurance benefits to a plan out of Arkansas, which made every provider I was already seeing become out of network. I had my first major medical scare of my adulthood and ended up paying a few grand out of pocket because U of R was out of network. Promotions are non existent. They make you apply and interview for any role you want to move into. There is nothing good about working here, and i would advise anyone to stay away from them.
