Vantaggi

- high salaries and good comp plan with accelerators, spiffs and bonuses - collaborative environment between departments - flexible schedules/adaptive options if you just do your work - leadership very willing to listen and help with internal direction or specific challenges/opportunities - transparent even when news is tough or frustrating - new leadership that acts WAY faster with innovation, internal changes and process improvements - connection and community, on individual teams, in the local communities (we do volunteer days with our clients) and across departments. It's easy to have friends in all parts of the country and departments.

Svantaggi

- every manager is allowed to run their teams very differently. I have a great boss, but I know there is a solid mix of awesome and lousy depending on the region, but I guess that would happen anywhere. - changes in leadership prior to July 2019. The old leadership was very stagnant and set in their ways and it held us back in a lot of ways. Since Raul has come on board, changes are swift and all processes and products are constantly under review. Innovation is truly a focus and client ideas are being put into place within months. While I liked the more family feel of the old regime, it really kept us from making necessary or innovative pivots quickly. It finally feels like we are moving quickly in the right direction instead of the feet-dragging to change before.

Remote-first company, flexible hours, very realistic/understanding that human beings work here, not automatons.

Svantaggi

I have none. Honestly. Happiest I've been as an employee in any job I've ever had.

Vantaggi

Paycheck hits on time every two weeks.

Svantaggi

I wanted to like working at Paycor. The product has potential and the pitch during the interview process sounded promising. But the reality of day-to-day life here is a far cry from what's advertised. Micromanagement is rampant. Leadership tracks every minute of your day — from login times to bathroom breaks — yet somehow trusts no one to make even the smallest decision independently. You're treated like a number, not a professional. There's zero autonomy, and any attempt to take initiative is quickly shut down. The leadership team is deeply out of touch. Many managers got their roles through tenure, not merit, and it shows. They struggle to answer basic questions about the industry, lean on buzzwords in meetings, and consistently make decisions that anyone with relevant experience would know to avoid. When things go wrong, blame rolls downhill fast. The culture is toxic and cliquey. If you're not in the right social circle, advancement is nearly impossible. Favoritism is blatant, feedback is rarely constructive, and the "open door policy" is a joke — speak up and you'll find yourself quietly pushed out. The work environment doesn't help either. High turnover means institutional knowledge constantly walks out the door. Morale is low, burnout is high, and HR seems more interested in protecting the company than the employees.
