The role offered little creative freedom or clarity. Briefs were often incomplete and deadlines unrealistically short, with constant last-minute amends that made it impossible to produce quality work. Lead design management rarely allowed designers to work independently and frequently micromanaged every detail, creating a tense and discouraging environment. Feedback was often critical rather than constructive, and comparisons were frequently made to other creatives who had been in the company much longer — without acknowledging the lack of onboarding, guidance, or consistent processes for new team members. Despite earlier discussions about having time and support to improve, communication from management remained inconsistent. HR also failed to respond after multiple attempts to reach out for help. The termination process was abrupt and poorly handled — a call framed as a “chat” ended with immediate termination and two hours to log off. The experience overall felt disorganised and unprofessional.
