There can only be pros when you work with great people literally that's it, oh and seeing cute dogs around the store and in the grooming. Cash register wasn't hard to learn at all.

Hours are severely cut because "we went over budget" and the most hours are only given to the managers...when you're hired, they try not to have you start off higher than $8-$8.50/hour because you "get raises." The first couple raises are standard: $0.10 at 3 months, $0.15 at 6 months then at 1 year when you supposedly get your review (I never got one) one of your managers determines your raise. It will be lower than $0.15 even with an outstanding star review according to my managers. So starting from $8/hour you don't even make it to $8.50 with raises!! I have been there for over a year probably 2 years now and still am making under $8/hour when my coworker's who have been there less time than me are making more because they were hired by a different manager...

The company pushes for more and more from the bottom level employees without better pay. I worked there before the restructuring and; not much can make me cry, but working here sure did, even back then. I can’t imagine how anxiety inducing it must be to work there now. Animal welfare is a complete non-concern. The only thing that’s pushed is sell, sell, sell. It’s borderline dystopian. Bad management seems to be a common issue, not only from my experience, but many others’ as well. I worked until I was an exhausted sweaty mess to make sure everything in pet care or, when I groomed, the salon, was cleaned to perfection as expected of me (and I reiterate: “me,” because these standards were not expected of my co-workers, just me) and overall felt very unseen. The only times I did feel “seen,” was when mistakes were made. Work was treated like boot camp. A co-worker that was subtley targeting/bullying me, and even started rumors accusing me of racist remarks(!!!), was promoted and anything I reported was downplayed because they were friends with the assistant manager. Working here was an overall traumatizing experience.
