Working with the pets, working with associates that really have a passion for the pets. Being able to bring my dog to daycamp while at work. Benefits package is great for full time people.

Too many bad store managers that are protected by district managers, especially in the Phoenix/Scottsdale districts. They feel it is easier to get rid of the lower managers than it is to replace a store manager. They have even admitted to store managers not being the right fit, but waited until they quit instead of taking the steps to coach them to improve or to remove them from their position. How many managers does a store have to lose before the corporate office realizes that it might be an issue with a store manager? How many long term associates have to quit before something is done? Just a few years ago they were promoted the new "CARE" model and that has gone out the window this past year. My store manager doesn't care about the associates or managers, she is only concerned with her bonus check. With all of the upheaval from the investor issues and the company selling it seems that everyone has lost their minds. Scorecard has been changed multiple times in the past year and there is no consistency in the company focus. Pick one or two items to focus on and go after, don't change it every other month.

If you have experience they can pay very well considering the size of the company. Depending on which store you are in, they can be pretty good at fostering a good environment and culture.

Company is primarily focused on sales and not customer experience. So expect a lot of metrics and hounding customers. Company is trying to be technologically forward but continues to neglect to invest in the technology. So there’s updates every week crashes every week with no communication around it.
