Vantaggi
Plenty of things to do
Competitive compensation albeit expensive insurance
Immersive training
Half of the employees are genuinely nice and caring
Svantaggi
Very micromanaged: daily emails of work for accountability due to the diversity of work ethics (some people work very hard while others barely work); majority of group meetings feel like a parent is scolding everyone to do "chores" because many people are lazy or inconsiderate.
Stressful: 4-10s is great, hourly paid overtime but in yearly review the management keeps pushing you to work >50 hours/week and reflects negatively on your score if you don't.
Ambiance: The "call center style" desk area is actually a viper pit of others judging, gossip, and drama with unevenly distributed workload which creates resentment; some employees talk behind backs or send blanket scathing emails instead of being an adult and professional.
Antiquated: extreme use of Excel to create assignments and track testing which needs more streamlining; the "new" LIMS system is slow, time consuming, and halfway effective.
New processes, thinking, and technology take an absurdly long time to launch.
Supervisors: many chiefs that pull the indians around in circles of tasks (so be prepared for extreme multi-tasking); a couple supervisors are not even necessary however given the title because of time served then butt-in on everything except suddenly knows nothing when asked a question.
Changing Departments: good luck!
