The headline really says it all. The culture of working in a boarding student community can be welcoming and inclusive. You think you’re going to be supported by this little “town.” This might be true for the students (maybe) but definitely not for faculty. When you’re looking for opportunities, there is a systemic shut down. They also claim to be progressive but this place is the epitome of liberal white elitism. This “good enough” attitude toward DEIJ is perfect for liberals. Not for progressives because they will just bend to their trustees and to the big donor parents. Little support or understanding of students of color.
