Hands down my favorite job I've ever had. The patient population, the mission, and the type of care provided felt incredibly meaningful. It's a unique setting that allows you to work with some amazing patients. If you're drawn to underserved communities and community-based work, this is one of the most rewarding roles out there. The work is interesting (in my opinion), and there's impact in what you do. This job is amazing if your heart is in this kind of work. If you're passionate about public health, equity, and patient advocacy, you'll probably love it. If you're looking for high pay and streamlined workflows, probably not for you.

As with most government jobs, the pay is on the lower end. Processes and system changes can be slow.

- takes 10 years to be 100% vested in retirement by employer - all tasks and activities are a priority - little support and understanding from senior leadership - many staff are burned out and struggling to keep up with unreasonable timelines, expectations, and work load - very high staff turnover rate, most employees stay for 1-2 years - communication is the County's biggest hurdle and challenge - very limit promotional opportunities - getting a raise happens like once every ten years
